We had a massive 30 prizes up for grabs that were very kindly sponsored and donated. A most sincere thank you to everyone who bought and sold tickets, sponsored prizes and made our fundraiser a great success again this year. Congratulations to our winners and we wish you all a very Happy Christmas and every blessing for the New Year. See picture for the list of prizes and winners. Our annual Carol Service in Tang Church was a lovely way to round off a busy term. The children from 2nd -6th class led us in song as they told the story of the Nativity. We commend them on the lovely singing, narrating, acting, music and reflections. Well done children! Feliz Navidad, próspero año y felicidad! All classes embraced the festive spirit with fun activities leading up to Christmas. Please enjoy a glimpse of these joyful moments in the attached photos. Science Week took place this year from the 13th -17th November . All pupils participated in lots of fun science experiments and webinars throughout the week. The children of Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st class were so excited and thrilled to perform their nativity play for all their parents and the children in the school. The children had spent the last few weeks rehearsing their songs and lines with Mrs. Seery and Ms. Tuite and did their best singing and dancing for all who came. Below are some pictures of the children in action.
During the week of 20th -24th November, the school marked Anti-bullying week. Children were reminded of our Anti-bullying Code "Say No, Get Away, Tell Someone" and completed lessons on Kindness and raising awareness of Bullying. As part of the Dept. of Education action plan on Anti-bullying, we raised our Cineáltas (Kindness) Flag to remind us to show kindness to everybody.
We were delighted to hear the news that Emma has won 1st place in the 7yrs and Under Category in the 2023 Athlone & Castlerea Credit Union Art competition representing Tang NS. Well done to all the boys and girls who worked hard on their entries for the competition.
