The girls football team was invited to play against an Offaly team at the interval of the Westmeath v Offaly match in O' Connor Park Tullamore on June 11th 2017.  It was a wonderful opportunity and we had a very enjoyable day.

Physical Exercise and Sports

A variety of sports are encouraged through the implementation of the P.E. curriculum. Children partake in activities ranging from ball games, dance, athletics, gymnastics and swimming. Occasionally coaches for specific sports come to the school to introduce children to the game.

Football

Tang N.S. is very proud of their football teams and their achievements to date. We have a girls' and boys' football team with boys and girls from 4th to 6th class involved. The teams compete in the Cumann na mBunscol and Mini-7s competitions each year. Each week a GAA coach comes to our school to develop the football skills of the children in the younger classes.

Sports Day

Our Annual Sports Day is held each year during the months of May/June. It is a day full of fun activities, as well as demonstrating great sportsmanship. Activities range from Fun Stations, Fancy Dress, Sprint Races, Relay Race and Novelty Races.
