Hard luck to our 4th class boys in the second round of the FAI Primary Schools Competition! The boys played brilliantly, securing two great wins in the second round. Once again, their skills and sportsmanship were recognized and praised by several schools and FAI officials—an amazing achievement! Well done to Jack, Robert, Rory, Isaac, Shane, Thomas, Lochlann, and Will. We're incredibly proud of you all and hope you enjoyed the experience. 3rd and 4th class decided to take part in the reading initiative called 'Reading Wars.' Congratulations and well done to our Parents Association and all our pupils who represented Tang National School in the St Patrick's Day Parade in Ballymahon. The theme of the parade was “Resilience and Resourcefulness” with a nod to how we all coped with Storm Ēowyn.
Tang NS entry is called “Weathering the Storm” … with a slogan “Tang NS will shine through the storms of life” Juniors to 2nd class dressed up in their raincoats, wellies, and umbrellas to symbolise the storm. 3rd to 6th class wore really bright colours and carried sunshine and rainbow props to symbolise our recovery after the storm. Huge effort and wonderful colour went into the fabulous display put together by parents and children and we were all delighted to hear that Tang NS won the best environmental entry in the parade! A massive thank you, to our Parents Association and the children for all their hard work and support and to Ballymahon St Patrick's Day Parade Committee for the award and acknowledgement. “Tang NS will shine through the storms of life”. Our Green Schools Committee in Tang NS are currently working towards our 6th Green Flag for Global Citizenship and litter/waste. As part of our Day of Action we held a Book Swapathon in our school hall on the 7th of March. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to exchange used books, discover new stories and nurture a love for reading. We raised €130.50 on our action day and this will be donated to a charity which supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals. A big thank you to our Parents Association for helping to organise and generously donating books for our Book Swapathon!📚 Your support made this event a great success and helped spread the joy of reading.
The children had a fantastic time making reading forts! 📚 This was a great book pushing event for World Book Day and tied in perfectly with Engineering Week. A fun and creative way to celebrate both reading and design!
