And the success does not stop there. This weekend will see even more of our girls (past and present) donning their boots again for the U14 Division 5 Final. The very best of luck girls! All classes enjoyed STEM workshops today. A big thank you to Midland Science for facilitating these workshops. The children of 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th class enjoyed a fantastic day out in Belvedere on September 25th at the Westmeath Cross Country Championships. We had a great day with an impressive final medal count of 12! A huge well done to Paddy Hickey who placed 13th in the 3rd class boys competition, and to Lucyann Finn who came 3rd in the 4th class girls. Congratulations to Lochlann O'Rourke (9th) and Isaac Sloyan (20th) in the 4th class boys, and to Gavin Higgins for placing 10th in the 5th class boys. Well done to Alannah Murray for coming 9th in the 6th class girls. Special recognition to Sophie Marlow, Grace O'Rourke, and Emily Groarke for taking 1st in the 4th class girls team competition, and to Ross Finn, James McLoughlin, and Daniel O'Rourke who earned 2nd place in the 6th class boys team medals. Please note that we have received notification that our school closure for Primary Maths Curriculum training day is scheduled for the Thursday 17th October 2024. School will remain closed on this day as all teachers will attend training in Athlone Education Centre. Congratulations to our U12 Camogie Champions on a great win at the weekend for Drumraney Camogie Club. We are so proud of these hard working girls who put on a great display of camogie despite the intense heat on Saturday 7th Sept in Kinnegad.
Our past pupils on the U16 team also had a great win in Kinnegad for Drumraney Camogie Club. Comhghairdeachas libh, a chailíní! A great weekend for the club, and huge testament to the hard work and dedication of our girls and their coaches!
