The boys played their hearts out, demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship both on and off the field.

Westmeath FAI Schools Primary 5's Competition – Competition Report by Robert Keenan, Isaac Sloyan and Mr Horan
Our 4th class team entered the Westmeath FAI Schools Primary 5’s Competition knowing they were up against tough competition. As the youngest team in the tournament, facing strong 6th class opponents, they knew every match would be a challenge. However, their determination, skill, and teamwork shone through in an impressive series of performances.
Match 1: Tang NS 3-2 Raharney NS The opening match was a closely contested battle against Raharney NS. Tang NS took the lead early with a fantastic goal from Will. Jack then doubled the advantage with a well-taken strike. Raharney fought back, but Tang  responded with a crucial third goal from Robert. In the final moments, heroic goalkeeping from Lochlann and rock-solid defending from Rory secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
Match 2: Tang NS 3-0 Ballinacargy NS Tang dominated the second match against Ballinacargy NS, securing a commanding 3-0 victory. Isaac was on fire, scoring two excellent goals, while Jack added another to seal the win. Shane was exceptional in goal, making crucial saves, while the defensive unit stood firm to earn a well-deserved clean sheet.
Match 3: Tang NS 9-0 St. Joseph’s NS Tang delivered a breathtaking performance against St. Joseph’s, overwhelming their opponents with a 9-0 win. Robert led the charge with four goals, Jack secured a hat-trick, while Isaac and Will added one each. With standout performances from Thomas, Lochlann, Shane, and Will, Tang proved far too strong for St. Joseph’s, demonstrating their attacking prowess and defensive resilience.
Match 4: Tang NS 3-1 Ballymore NS Knowing Ballymore NS was one of the toughest teams in the competition, Tang prepared for a fierce battle. The game started with a brilliant assist from Will to Robert, who then set up Jack for the opening goal. Ballymore quickly equalized, making it 1-1. Tang regrouped, and Isaac struck a superb goal to regain the lead. With solid defensive work from Rory, Will, and incredible saves from Lochlann, Ballymore struggled to find a way through. Tang capitalized on their momentum, with Isaac scoring again to make it 3-1. The final minutes were nail-biting, but Will’s defensive heroics ensured Ballymore had no way back. Tang emerged victorious in a thrilling contest.
A brilliant effort from all the players saw Tang triumph against stiff competition. Their teamwork, skill, and determination were on full display throughout the tournament. Special mentions go to the goal scorers, the rock-solid defense, and the outstanding goalkeepers who ensured Tang’s success. Well done to all involved – a fantastic achievement for our 4th class team!
