Junior Infants are learning all about spring and working on the farm this month. Pupils discussed dairy farming and how it has changed over time. They acted out milking a cow by hand and learned that it is from the cream of the milk that we make butter. Pupils then had to use a lot of strength to shake the cream to make butter. We could then see the buttermilk separate from the butter.

1st and 2nd class welcomed their grandparents into their classroom today. The grandparents did not realise they were in for such a treat! Not only did they listen to presentations about olden day artifacts and see the replicas the children created, they also listened to songs and tunes on the tin whistles, read the children's writing about a normal day as a child long ago, read some typing about the reasons why they, the grandparents are so special and even participated in an art activity of their own. It was a lovely afternoon and thank you to the children for all their hard work. Sending our love to everyone today! 5th class were a terrific help last Friday in the Senior Infant classroom. They helped us create beautiful and thoughtful Valentine cards. Thank you 5th class. There were many lovely surprises around Tang this morning. Congratulations to the 6th class pupils on receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation yesterday in Ballymore Church. It was a lovely ceremony celebrated by Bishop Deenihan. Also a big thank you to our 3rd, 4th and 5th class children who sang beautifully in the choir. We are very proud of you all. |
