The Senior Infants would like to thank the 5th and 6th class pupils for their help with making our homes from around the world. We had been learning about different climates and the materials used to build them.
Congratulations to Fr. Oliver on reaching his Silver Jubilee. We are very fortunate to have him as our Parish priest and always look forward to his visits to the school. Thank you to the children from 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th classes for their beautiful artwork to display in the church. We hope he has an enjoyable night this coming Friday in Ballymore Church.
Pat from childwatch.ie provided the senior classes with a very comprehension and interesting internet safety talk today. Even the more technological savvy children and teachers were surprised by the power of the internet and both the positive and negative effects it can have on our current and future lives. They received valuable information and advice on how to make their use of the internet as safe as possible. Please discuss with your child how to stay safe online and the importance of being safe online when sharing personal information.
Senior Infants enjoyed sampling some of the lettuce, onions and radishes from our vegetable box. We made some delicious sandwiches for our lunch and we all brought home some lettuce for our families to taste.
Junior and Senior Infants had a great day at the AIT Let's Go camp on Tuesday. They enjoyed a super range of action packed, fun filled activities which kept them active all day long. Below are a few snaps of the day.
Congratulations to Emma Maynard in Sixth class who recently won 2nd place in the Oliver Goldsmith Poerty Competition with her poem entitled " A New Day In May".
1st and 2nd class picked scallions, radishes and lettuce from their vegetable box today. They then washed and prepped them and made delicious sandwiches for their lunches.
We had a brilliant and jam packed day last Friday and luckily the weather was also in our favour. The fancy dress costumes are more impressive each year and we commend the children and all the mums and dads for the wonderfully creative costumes. The activity stations were lots of fun, particularly the four new stations. Well done to Tyler Rhatigan and Taylor Slevin's team for winning joint 1st in the 4th -6th classes and to Grace Carberry Deery's team for winning in the 1st-3rd classes. The competitive races were a success and well done to everyone for taking part. We saved the best for last with a visit from the ice-cream van. Thank you to the Parent's Association for organising it. Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day, it is very much appreciated.
See below for some photos.
A big congratulations to our 2nd class pupils who made their 1st Holy Communion on Saturday. The children read their prayers beautifully and brought very special gifts to the altar. A special thank you to Clare Sheerin for playing the piano, the choir for their beautiful singing and to Fr. Jerry for delivering the mass. It was such a lovely morning and we very much enjoyed the tea and buns at the school afterwards.
