We celebrated our End of School Year Mass in Tang church. We've had another successful but quick year. Congratulations to our 6th class on their final day of primary school. We wish you all well as you continue onto secondary school. We know you have many wonderful opportunities and experiences ahead of you. Have a lovely summer everyone.
We celebrated mass for Breege Lynn with Fr. Jerry, Fr. Paddy and the Lynn family today. It was a lovely and special afternoon remembering Breege. We have dedicated our school hall in her memory. Junior Infants to Second class took a walk in Newcastle woods on Wednesday morning. We had a lovely time exploring, identifying flora, counting the ages of trees and meeting some of the local mini beasts! There was so much to see and learn about. It was such an enjoyable morning. Last Friday, the 3rd and 4th classes set off early for Lilliput in Mullingar. Our multi-activity day began with some team- building games. After this, we were put into groups for orienteering. We had great fun navigating our way through the woods in our groups. It was then time for a small break. Next, we returned to the woods to play a game of Capture the Flag. At this stage we were all looking forward to our lunch. With our bellies full and our bodies rested, it was back to the fun and games. We played Brain- Bashers which involved us screaming really loudly!! Then we went back into the woods for a game of Sniper. After this we had a go at rock climbing, which was super fun. After a quick scavenger hunt and Aero ball game, it was finally time for the days top activities of canoeing and bog hopping. We had so much fun and enjoyed getting wet and muddy. After a refreshing shower, it was time to board the bus and leave Lilliput. The silence on the bus on the way home was testament to the long, fun filled and action packed day we had. Junior Infants, Senior Infants, 1st class & 2nd class had a terrific day in AIT at the Let's Go camp. It was an action packed day. The children thoroughly enjoyed the many different activities and were worn out by the end of the day! Senior Infants and 1st Class enjoyed making elderflower cordial this week. When it was ready for tasting we mixed one part cordial with two parts water for a refreshing summer drink. Delicious! Thank you to everyone who helped raise money, steward and take part in our School Walk on Wednesday June 6th. It was a beautiful evening and very well supported. Well done to everyone! |
