We celebrated World Book Day today by having a paired reading session across all classes. The children brought in a book of their own to read to their assigned partner and they discussed what they enjoyed most from the story. Farmer Vincent came to visit Junior and Senior Infants today and he brought one of his lambs with him. The lamb was only 1 week old. We had fun petting the lamb and we had some great name suggestions for him. Vincent explained to us how he can tell if a lamb is feeling unwell, why he needs to shear sheep but not lambs in the summer, why all farm animals need ear tags, why sometimes farmers put paint (brand) on the backs of the sheep and lots lots more. We had a lovely afternoon and you can take a look at all of us with the lamb, VJ Popcorn. |
