We were delighted to welcome Patrick Claffey to Tang NS during the week. Patrick presented the school team with a fabulous new set of school jerseys for our teams to wear proudly when representing our school at sporting events. We are very grateful to Patrick and Catriona Claffey of Claffey's Ballymahon for their very generous sponsorship.

Meanwhile, Tristan became a basketball County Champion in recent weeks also. Great sporting achievements all round, well done all! Well done to all the children in 1st -6th class who took part in their first hurling/camogie training session today. Thank you to Elaine Hickey for all her hard work training all the boys and girls in our school!! On Thursday, 11th April, our 4th, 5th and 6th class students received a visit from Garda Stacey. Garda Stacey spoke to the students about the importance of internet safety.
Have a look at the amazing projects created by 4th and 5th class before Christmas on World War Two. The sun was out in Ballymahon for the annual St Patrick's Day Parade where our school was so colourfully represented. This years theme was all about Wellbeing and Sláinte which worked brilliantly with our school improvement focus on Wellbeing at present. In school we talked about the things we do to look after our Wellbeing and drew pictures of that things that make us feel happy. Our parents then put together a wonderful display of their children's Art work depicting the things we enjoy doing that make us feel happy. Our parents organised balloons for every one and we all dressed in lovely bright yellow. Everyone enjoyed some treats of crisps or jellies and a drink after our colourful march through the town. Huge thanks goes to our organising committee for all their preparations and hard work and to the parents and children who showed up in force on the day to enjoy the atmosphere and the fun in Balllymahon and represent our school in the parade.
We were delighted to win 'Most Topical Entry' prize on the day and to raffle of the excellent hamper prize from the committee which included a new bicycle helmet, locks, bells, reflectors and hi viz. Congratulations to all prize winners and organisers! |
