Congrats to the 5th and 6th class boys and girls who both advanced to the County Finals which took place on Wednesday 25th. Both teams did us proud with the girls coming in as runner ups and the boys progressing to the next round, North-Leinster.
Huge thanks goes to our organising committee for all their preparations and hard work and to the parents and children who showed up in force on the day to enjoy the atmosphere and the fun in Balllymahon and represent our school in the parade. Well done everyone!!
Well done to our two girls’ soccer teams and two boys’ soccer teams who represented the school yesterday in the FAI Primary 5’s tournament in Gainstown.
We are delighted that one of our boys’ teams and one of our girls’ teams have qualified for the Westmeath County Finals. This is only our second year entering this competition as a school, and our first year to have girls’ teams involved. To have two girls’ teams and two boys’ teams competing this year is an incredible achievement. All of the teams played fantastic football, showed great teamwork and sportsmanship, and everyone had a brilliant day. A big thank you to the FAI referees and volunteers, to Mullingar Athletic AFC for hosting the first round of the competition, and to all the parents and grandparents who came along to support and cheer on our school teams. You may have noticed some further changes and improvements to our yard areas recently. Thanks to a generous donation from Mr. J. Martin Comey and Dr. Mary Lee Fitzgerald, through the Irish American Partnership, we have been able to purchase a climbing wall, games tables, and outdoor yard games (Skittles, Jenga blocks) for our breaktimes. The children have had plenty of fun climbing the wall, playing games such as Snakes & Ladders, Draughts, Skittles, and having activities to do when the grass is out of bounds. We are immensely grateful to Mr. Comey and Ms. Fitzgerald for their continued support of our school.
Congratulations to the pupils of 6th class who were confirmed by Bishop Tom Deenihan in the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Ballymore on the 10th February 2026. Everyone looked fabulous for the event and we hope they all enjoyed their celebrations of the Sacrament.
